Fourteen years ago, I embarked on the journey of creating Decadorn with two core personal goals in mind.
First, I wanted to be a present and engaged mum, there for the school pick-ups and every important moment.
Second, I wanted to build a business that would challenge me creatively and push me to grow. I’m proud to say that Decadorn has helped me achieve both, and it’s been such a rewarding experience to not only live this journey myself, but to share it with a community of incredible women who share similar values and ambitions.
Our recent relocation brought change, but it also gave us the opportunity to form a new team - one that is already filled with vibrant, passionate women who inspire me every day. We’re excited to continue this journey together, embracing new challenges and supporting one another each step of the way.
To all the women who support, uplift, and empower each other you are the heart of everything we do at Decadorn.
Read on to learn more about my team, what they enjoy outside of work, and the Decadorn pieces they’re loving right now.
Thanks so much for supporting us,
Helen
Nikki
Product Manager
What was your role before Decadorn, or what else do you do alongside it?
I’ve always worked in apparel and accessories retail. Before starting Decadorn, I had the privilege of leading a team at Mulberry’s head office in Somerset.
What’s your favourite thing to do at the weekend or outside of work?
Family walks are my favourite, but for a completely indulgent ‘me’ day, I love discovering new things. I get so much energy from art exhibitions - like Messums West in Tisbury - seeing a show, or simply catching up with friends over coffee.
What’s your favourite Decadorn piece at the moment and why?
Right now, I’m loving our new Statement Chunky Link Chain in gold. It’s so versatile - I like wearing it plain, but also paired with a Large Gem Slice. We have three to choose from, but the Moss Agate is my favourite, as it symbolises New Beginnings.
Amie
Studio Manager
What was your role before Decadorn, or what else do you do alongside it?
I split my time between Studio Managing for Decadorn and freelance marketing for local businesses - and, of course, keeping two little ladies happy and thriving.
What’s your favourite thing to do at the weekend or outside of work?
If you know me, you’ll know I’m a coffee shop hopper. In fact, I love coffee so much that I started my own coffee company over lockdown to satisfy my obsession. Beyond that, I’m always exploring - whether it’s somewhere local or abroad - with a carefully curated playlist in tow.
What’s your favourite Decadorn piece at the moment and why?
I wear my Statement Gold Chunky Chain with a freshwater pearl every day - it’s the perfect mix of statement and wearable. But my next purchase will be a Belcher chain with a citrine carved stone. I love its meaning - creativity and success - and can’t wait to have it around my neck.
Jo
Digital Marketing
What was your role before Decadorn?
I worked as a freelance digital marketer for years, specialising in Meta ads before moving in-house as a Digital Marketing Manager for a baby sensory brand. And, of course, I’m also a mum to two growing boys.
What’s your favourite thing to do at the weekend or outside of work?
Since moving from London to the Kent coast, we love making the most of beach walks whenever the weather allows. I also really enjoy catching up with friends and always jump at the chance for a trip back into London.
What’s your favourite Decadorn piece at the moment and why?
Right now, I’m coveting the new Amethyst Guiding Star bracelet - it’s my birthstone, so I think it’s time to get one on my wrist. I also love the Moss Agate gem slice, which I’m planning to add to my chunky chain necklace that I wear every day, layered with my beloved Belcher chain.
Libby
Maker
What else do you do alongside your role at Decadorn?
Alongside making at Decadorn, I work as an artist and artist’s assistant in Bath. I share a studio with Victoria Topping and also help run The Yellow Gallery—our shop and gallery on Walcot Street, just around the corner from Decadorn HQ.
My artwork mainly revolves around words and typography, with a focus on creating lenticular pictures that reveal different messages from three angles (much easier to show than explain!) - here's a link to my website.
What’s your favourite thing to do at the weekend or outside of work?
You’ll either find me at The Yellow Gallery or spending time with my husband, five-year-old daughter, and our elderly greyhound, Bones!
What’s your favourite Decadorn piece at the moment and why?
At the moment it’s the lovely gold chunky chain necklace with moonstone gem slice. A statement piece that will go with every outfit!
Sarah
Photographer
I first met Sarah through school, as our children are in the same class. Super friendly and effortlessly stylish, she’s such a gorgeous person, and we connected straight away. When she told me about her work, I was immediately excited about the possibility of collaborating.
Working with her has been an absolute dream - she makes every shoot seamless and consistently exceeds my expectations. In just five months, we’ve already completed three shoots, with many more exciting projects ahead.
How do you work with Decadorn?
I’m a photographer, creating beautiful visuals for Decadorn’s pieces and campaigns.
What’s your favourite thing to do at the weekend or outside of work?
I love getting outdoors and enjoying good coffee and pastries with my husband and three daughters.
What’s your favourite Decadorn piece at the moment and why?
The Freshwater Pearl Hoop Earrings. I’ve always loved pearls - they’re timeless and effortlessly elegant.
