Our recent studio move to Bath has bought with it many exciting changes, including some fabulous new team members.
First to introduce you to is Oonagh - our new Studio Manager. Not only will Oonagh be overseeing the running of our studio, but she has been making many of your orders too.
Join us in getting to know our newest team member.
Hi Oonagh, Welcome to Decadorn. Where did you work before joining us?
I worked for the independent perfume brand Ffern at their flagship store in Soho, London as their Retail and Workshop Manager. Prior to that, I worked for womenswear brands LF Markey and TOAST in roles covering store management, visual merchandising and customer service.
What does the Studio Manager role at Decadorn involve?
A mix of everything! Typically working alongside our Founder, Helen, sorting out the day's orders, supporting our makers and checking and booking stock.
I'll also be coordinating photoshoots, supporting Helen with product and packaging design and putting my visual merchandising skills to good use by getting our pop-up shop looking beautiful and ready for customers.
What are you looking forward to most about working for Decadorn?
It has to be working in a creative environment amongst other creatives. I'm also excited about working on Walcot Street - it's such a creative area of Bath, packed with independent shops and some great lunch spots.
What do you like to do outside of work?
When I'm not at the Decadorn studio, I work as a freelance florist and have some exciting weddings coming up this summer.
I also enjoy painting, analogue photography, yoga, live music and dancing.
On a weekend you'll often find me taking the Bath Skyline walk. Beautiful views and lots of nature make for a perfect escape from the city and plenty of time to listen to my favourite podcasts.
What are your favourite places in Bath?
Ooh, there are so many to choose from!
Food-wise, I love Landrace Bakery for the nicest cardamom buns in town, Choux Box in Alexandra Park for the best choux buns and macarons and Noya's for delicious authentic Vietnamese food.
For drinks with friends, it has to be the Beckford Bottle Shop which has a relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff (if like me you need a hand choosing from the wine list!). I also like the Packhorse in the little village of South Stoke nearby. It's a community-saved pub with a great garden and cosy dining rooms.
Shopping-wise, I can't resist the allure of Toppings - a huge independent bookshop where you can sit down with a cup of tea and flick through the books for hours.
I love to while away a day at The Little Theatre, our local Picture House. It is a very special place to me as my mum used to work there as an usherette and my grandad lived above the theatre when he was younger.
What are your favourite Decadorn Products?
I adore the gold Dalmatian Jasper chunky chain necklace for the texture and uniqueness of the stone. Chunky gold pieces make a statement but are still classic and go with everything. This piece is currently in our sale, so if you love it as much as I do you'll have to be quick!
I also love anything with Peridot - my favourite gemstone for its beautiful citrus green colour.
Thanks, Oonagh, tell us a fun/interesting fact about you.
I lived in Mexico City for a year after university.
