I moved from London to Bath a number of years ago, and it didn’t take long for this city to completely win me over. There’s something about the pace, the architecture, and the independent spirit here that just feels… right.
Now that the Decadorn studio has found its home here too, and is now open to customers, I feel more connected to Bath than ever. I love welcoming people into our space and sharing a few of my favourite spots around the city.
If you’re planning a visit, here are some of the places I return to time and time again.
Coffee Shops
WatchHouse
Located on Old Bond Street, this is a newer addition to Bath’s coffee scene and quickly became a favourite. The upstairs space is calm and airy, and the coffee is always excellent.
Boston Tea Party
My go-to when I need to sit down and get a bit of work done. It’s bright, spacious, and you can usually count on finding a seat during the week.
Lunch Spots

Green Street Butchers
Tucked away on a quiet side street, but well worth seeking out. Their roast chicken bap is one of the best lunches in Bath.
Green Bird Café
Nestled between The Circus and the Royal Crescent, this independently owned café is such a gem. Everything is made fresh on-site, with ever-changing soups and tarts, alongside great coffee and a tempting selection of cakes.
Landrace
A firm favourite with the Decadorn team. Downstairs is a cosy bakery serving incredible savoury pastries and sandwiches (the sausage rolls are hard to resist), while upstairs offers a more refined dining experience with small plates and fresh pasta.
Independent Shops

Somer
A beautifully curated sustainable fashion store showcasing new designers and local makers. It’s a great place to discover something a little different.
Hidden Store
A thoughtful gift shop championing UK-based designers and makers. Expect natural materials, timeless craftsmanship, and pieces designed to be treasured for years.
Berdoulat
Since moving both home and studio, I’ve found myself drawn here more and more. A beautifully restored space filled with unique homeware you won’t find elsewhere.
Toppings
A true book lover’s haven. Shelves from floor to ceiling, and regular author talks that make it feel like a real community space.
Sights and Walks
Bath Skyline Walk
A stunning 3-mile walk with some of the best views over the city. I like to start from Alexandra Park and bring a treat along for the journey.
The Royal Crescent
One of Bath’s most iconic spots. On a sunny day, it’s the perfect place for a picnic and a moment to slow down.
The Weir & Pulteney Bridge
A walk I never tire of — beautiful in every season. It’s actually part of our daily school route, which still feels like a luxury.

Pubs & Restaurants
Noya’s Kitchen
A cosy Vietnamese restaurant known for its authentic, home-cooked dishes. The summer rolls are a personal favourite.
Castle Farm
Just outside the city in Midford, and home to one of the best roasts I’ve ever had. A real treat.
Walcot House
Perfect after a long day at the studio. Relaxed, stylish, and consistently good for drinks and unfussy, delicious food - and just down the road from our studio so a firm favourite for a team night out!
Hare & Hounds
For the best views over Bath, this is the place. In summer, sitting outside with a pizza is hard to beat; in winter, it’s all about finding a cosy corner inside.

Bath is a city I fell in love with from the moment I arrived, and it continues to inspire me every day. From its independent spirit to its slower rhythm, it’s a place that invites you to wander, discover, and come back again.
I really hope you can visit soon, and if you do, make sure to stop by the studio and say hello.
Helen x
