Our new AW26 gemstone jewellery collection, Burnished Earth, is inspired by the warm, earthy colours of autumn: golden browns, deep reds, smoky greys and rich blacks.
It brings together statement stones, brand new shapes and a few familiar favourites, including a bigger range of our much-loved statement quartz dome. Every piece is handmade and hand finished in our Bath studio.
We spoke to Helen to find out more about the inspiration, the colours, the shapes and the meaning behind each stone.
Q&A With Helen, Founder of Decadorn
What inspired the Burnished Earth collection?
“Autumn is my favourite time of year for jewellery. The light changes, we wear richer colours and textures, and we reach for pieces that feel more substantial. I wanted a collection that felt warm and grounded, with stones that have real presence.”
Why did you choose these colours?
“I started with the earthy, burnished shades you see everywhere in the season. They work with knitwear, tailoring and evening wear, so they feel as good in November and December as they do in October.”
Why did you want to expand the statement quartz dome?
“It’s been one of our most popular pieces since we launched it. People love the size and the way light moves through the stone, and they kept asking for more. So we’ve widened the range with more gemstones and more ways to wear it.”
Tell us about the new shapes.
“The bevelled rectangle is completely new for us. It’s a clean, modern shape with a polished edge that sits beautifully on a snake chain or a cord. Alongside it we’ve kept some of the shapes people already know and love from our Dome Collection, so there’s something new and something familiar for everyone.”
The Gemstones Behind Our AW26 Collection
Each stone in Burnished Earth was chosen for its colour, depth and meaning.
Tiger Eye, Red Jasper and Smoky Quartz Jewellery
Tiger Eye has a golden glow and is traditionally associated with courage and confidence.
Red Jasper, our new stone for autumn, is warm and earthy and is thought to symbolise strength, endurance and vitality.
Dalmatian Jasper is playful and spotted, and known as the stone of positivity. It's consistently one of our best-selling stones and can be worn easily with any colour.
Smoky Quartz is another brand new stone. It's translucent and warm-toned, associated with calm and protection and thought to ease stress. It’s a favourite in our statement quartz dome.
Black Onyx and Black Obsidian Jewellery
Black Onyx is traditionally associated with grounding and is thought to absorb negativity and build inner strength.
Black Obsidian, with its glossy, glass-like finish, is said to reveal hidden truths.
Together, these dark stones are celebrated for their deep beauty and protective energy.
New Shapes: The Bevelled Rectangle and Statement Quartz Dome
The brand new bevelled rectangle comes in Tiger’s Eye, Red Jasper and Dalmatian Jasper, on a snake chain for a little shimmer or a cord for something more relaxed.
Our statement quartz dome shape, following the launch of the The Quartz Reset Statement Necklace, has become a customer favourite. Available on statement beads or statement chains that you can mix and match.
And we have introduced a stunning circle dome stone too in smoky quartz, red jasper or quartz that looks stunning worn alone or layered up with other beads or statement chains.
Finally, If you prefer a more subtle approach to your jewellery, we have brought back our lovely little domes that work beautifully on their own or together as a duo.
“I’m so proud that everything is hand finished in our Bath studio. We make or finish every single piece before it goes out, and we keep our batches small. No two stones are ever quite the same, and that’s what I love about them.”
